Our Attorneys

MICHAEL C. DUNKLEY – Michael obtained his undergraduate degree
in psychology from the University of Calgary in 1978, and was a
member of the third class that graduated from the then-new University
of Calgary Law School in 1981.
After completing his articles of clerkship, Michael established his own
firm in September of 1983 and has been self-employed in his own
practice since that time.

As a lawyer, Michael has had extensive previous courtroom
experience, mainly in the area of criminal law, but had also always
been involved in the areas of real estate and business law. As that
side of the practice grew, he became more and more focused on real
estate and business law, which eventually expanded to over 80% of
the practice, and is now the main focus of the practice.

In addition to running a very busy practice, Michael is also a mentor to
law students, assists with Student Legal Assistance at the University
of Calgary, has acted as a judge at law school mooting competitions,
has written the scripts for the real estate tapes for the dial-a–law
service, has given seminars on real estate and mortgages, and has
written ongoing periodic columns for various real estate publications.

Michael is active in his community association, has assisted with 4-H,
and Sunday School, and had acted as a volunteer for various school
and community events.

In his spare time, Michael enjoys music, weightlifting scuba diving and
skiing with his wife and two children.

MARY L. DUNKLEY – Mary is a native Calgarian, who studied
accounting at the University of Lethbridge. She has worked with her
husband in the practice since it’s inception in 1983, and has been
essential to it’s continued growth and success. As the Office
Administrator. Mary is responsible for the day to day management of
the practice, including the maintenance of the trust and general
accounting records, Mary is also knowledgeable in real estate and
commercial matters, and has in the past provided assistance in those
areas.

Mary enjoys skiing and swimming, and divides her time between the
practice and her family.

Samantha L. - Sam is our Legal Assistant and staff supervisor. After
attending the University of Calgary, Sam joined our team, and we
consider ourselves lucky to have her with us. Sam is very much a
"people" person, and the energy and enthusiasm that she brings to
her work is appreciated not only by us, but by the many clients with
whom she works. Sam has considerable experience in real estate
matters, and prepares mortgages for and liases on behalf of our
clients with all major financial lending institutions, as well as with
various private lenders with whom we have ongoing relationships.
Sam also assists with preparation and execution of wills, and with
preparation of applications for grants of probate and administration of
estates. In addition, Sam is very involved with our continuing
subdivision matters, and is loved by our developer clients for her
organization, instant recall, and her ability to be on top of everything!

Sam is very athletic and competitive, and when not leading the team
at work, can be found leading her women's soccer team to victory as
the top goal scorer on the team.

Rebecca G. - Legal Secretary - Rebecca joined us after returning
home to Canada from England, where she had been residing for the
previous year. In addition to assisting with various real estate
purchases, sales and refinancing, Rebecca also assists with wills and
estates, as well as with some litigation matters. Her pleasant
personality and willingness to help clients makes her a favourite with
those she assists.

In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys reading, art and drawing, and
travel and adventure.

Nicole G. - Legal Secretary - after completion of an office assistant
course,
in February 2006, Nicole joined our team, and her warm and quiet
personality also make her a client favourite. In addition to real estate
purchases, sales, and mortgages, Nicole assists with mobile home
transactions, with wills and estates, and with various corporate and
business matters.
Nicole enjoys spending time with her family, and likes dancing, singing
and music.

Jennifer R. - part time assistant - Jennifer is a full time student in the
faculty of Business at the University of Calgary, studying international
business, and will graduate this spring with a Bachelor of Commerce
degree. Jennifer has worked with us on a part time basis since the
fall of 2005, and will be applying for admission to law school in fall
2007.

Kathryn A. - part time assistant - the newest member of our team,
Kathryn is also a full time student at the University of Calgary, as an
English major, having arrived in the fall as a transfer student from
Ryerson, in Ontario.

Kirk D. - part time assistant - Kirk is currently enrolled in his 4th year
of Fine Arts at the University of Calgary, and assists us on a part time
basis with computers, deliveries, word processing, and relaxation and
encroachment applications

Dorian D. - part time assistant - Dorian is in her second year at the
University of Calgary, and assists with word processing, and designed
and maintains our website.
