Michael obtained his undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Calgary in 1978, and was a member of the third class that graduated from the then-new University of Calgary Law School in 1981.  After completing his articles of clerkship, Michael established his own firm in September of 1983 and has been self-employed in his own practice since that time. As a lawyer, Michael has had extensive previous courtroom experience, mainly in the area of criminal law, but had also always been involved in the areas of real estate and business law.  As that side of the practice grew, he became more and more focused on real estate and business law, which eventually expanded to over 80% of the practice, and is now the main focus of the practice.

Our firm was established in 1983, as a general practice of law, and although we are therefore able to provide our clients with a well- rounded service, and are able to advise and assist in a number of areas, our continuing focus is on  the areas of Real Estate, Corporate Commercial, and Business law.  Our emphasis on these areas has equipped us with the experience and the expertise necessary to provide our clients with first class service  at extremely competitive rates.  We take great pride in the reputation we have earned, both within the legal community and with our clients, for provision of efficient quality services  by our friendly, approachable staff, and for “demystifying” the procedures and requirements necessary to assist our clients with their transactions.
